I think I am finally recovered from the Beginning Experience Weekend this past weekend.
I am so blessed to be able to be a part of this ministry, even if it is an exhausting 48 hour weekend. It is a very structured weekend, and as weekend coordinator I am in charge of/to blame if things go wrong. However, we had an amazing group of participants this past weekend and I was blessed to be able to help them through their grieving process. It has made an amazing difference in my life - the most difficult time in my life.
I had an opportunity to speak with one of the priests on Saturday night and he told me to make time to thank God for all of my blessings.
I am very thankful for my wonderful children, family and friends and was blessed with wonderful, hardworking, loving parents, whom I miss very much.
God has a plan for me and I have to be patient.
Love to all!
I am changing the overview of this blog to be more positive! 2014 will be my year!!!

Volunteering
Back in high school I volunteered in church and at the hospital. Ok, so my mom may have "volunteered/voluntold" me for church, but I really did enjoy it. I have always been one to try to help whenever possible. However, my ex wasn't.
After my separation I went on a retreat and felt the calling to begin volunteering again. That was before a went on my first Beginning Experience weekend.
That weekend was amazing!!! The last day I felt the call to be part of that team and help others as much as they had helped me. Through Beginning Experience I have made the most amazing friends that have been there for me at the most difficult time in my life. When I lost my husband, I lost his whole family who were just like my family so that was another part of me that was grieving. I really can't blame them though, because they were only getting a "one sided exaggerated" story. God knows the truth and that is all that really matters.
I volunteered to teach CCD this year and have 5th and 6th graders (4 students total). When I told people that is the age group I had they said it would be hard. Well, last night was our third night and I must tell you, it is going very well. I have an amazing group of kids who ask so many questions and participate so well. I think I am learning as much as them!
This weekend is our Beginning Experience weekend. Please pray that we have a successful weekend and those that are grieving the loss of a spouse, either by death or divorce, find the healing they so desperately need.
Hugs to all!

Girls Weekend
One of my dearest friends moved to the Houston area about 5 years ago, after Hurricane Katrina. I finally drove to visit her this weekend, which was waaaaaayyyyy overdue! We had such a good time catching up, relaxing, etc.
Friday night we went to eat at the Woodlands. What a beautiful area. I wish we had more time to "window shop" and see the sights. From there we went to an "ice house/night club" where we felt very old! But we had a good time. We left there and went to a country bar "Stetsons".
Saturday we woke up, did some cardio, went to Old Town Spring, which I loved! It had alot of cute shops and we stopped to listen to a guy playing the guitar and singing on the porch! Very relaxing! Then we drove to Kemah and walked along the boardwalk. The kids would love it there and I plan on taking them next summer.
Sunday we went for a bike ride, did some craft shopping and then watched the Saints beat the Jaguars.....WHO DAT!
I must say, I should have visited her a lot sooner and can't wait to go again. It was just like old times (minus the staying out until 4 a.m.). Thank you Terra for such a wonderful visit! I love you! Can't wait to visit again.
Happy Monday Everyone!
